Nomfundo has been living with HIV for 12 years and faces the dual stigma of being HIV positive and lesbian in a conservative society. She lives and works in East London where she is involved in the HIV and lesbian, gay and transgender activist community. Her family does not support her public disclosure of her HIV status nor the fact that she is lesbian. Nomfundo has had difficulty with both her family and personal relationships. She is now also battling breast cancer and she is undergoing chemotherapy. Despite the numerous challenges she faces, Nomfundo is committed to her work with NGOs as she helps them with their work providing HIV care and support.
